WHO WE ARE
We are the Washington State agency with jurisdiction over public sector labor relations and collective bargaining in Washington. We assist parties in resolving labor-management disputes.
PERC is headed by three part-time citizen commissioners who are appointed by the Governor for five-year terms. The Commission hears and decides appeals on decisions from agency staff (Examiners and the Executive Director) and has rule-making authority.
Michael P. Sellars is the Executive Director of the Washington State Public Employment Relations Commission, the independent state agency responsible for resolving disputes involving the approximately 475,000 public employees.
Included with the Strategic Plan are our mission statement, vision statement, and agency core values. Together these items reflect what PERC does, what PERC wants to become in accomplishing that mission, and the manner in which PERC will accomplish its mission.
